Volunteering Jobs

Job: Main Entrance

For the Main Entrance, you will be taking DL size invitations as the children and parents/carers enter. Rip the invite in half and dispose of it.

Please also check if children are wearing wristbands. If a child has 'lost' their wristband and only arrives with the DL invitation, they may be allowed in and have them ask for a CREW Member in the Toy Room.

Some large groups of children will be arriving as a school. Sometimes the teachers will have all the children’s wristbands to collect their presents as a group from the Toy Room Warehouse

Parents/carers may request a ‘Yellow Sticker’ This is so that our photographers or videographers know that a child wearing a Yellow No Photography Sticker are not be filmed.

Job: Toy Room

For the Toy Room, you will be taking children through the Toy Room to collect their presents. The coloured wristband they wear indicates what sort of presents they will receive.

Green are for children aged: 3-4 years; Yellow: 5-6 years; Blue: 7-9 years and White: 10-12 years. Guide the children through to the appropriate table and after they receive their presents, wish them a Merry Christmas, escort them to the exit of the Toy Room and rejoin the line to take another child through.

Job: Warehouse

The Warehouse is where big school groups come to collect their presents as one. The children don't go through the Warehouse. One to two teachers will present a variety of wristbands to exchange for pre packed toy bags. There will be a list of schools that will be collecting their presents. You will be compiling all the toy bags for those schools, ready for collection.

Job: Rides

For the Amusement rides, you will be monitoring and helping children on and off the amusement rides. Be sure children use courtesy and manners and limit the time on these rides so that everyone gets a chance. Shoes may need to be removed before the child is allowed on the ride.

Job: Food

For the Food Area, you will be helping hand out the food. It could be drinks, chips, ice-cream, meatpies, fruit and other items. ALL are entitled to food on the day, children, parents, siblings and volunteers. Please make sure people are not too greedy. It is a sad fact that some people will take advantage of things when they are free.

Job: Volunteer & Parent Support

For this role, your job will be to look after our guests and other volunteers on the day. You are roaming to see if someone needs a break, parent, child or volunteer. You may even help with line management. Identifying where a line is heading and making sure parents and children are in the correct line.

We want to make the day as stress free as possible for the children! Maybe even offering to line up for a parent, while they take a break!

If you find a lost child (or parent!), please direct them to Information located in the centre of the room.

Please do not ask for any leftover toys, these are distributed to other organisations and hospitals.

The Party finishes at 2:00pm, it will only take 30 - 40 minutes to clean up if everyone stays!
